Purpose of the PTA
In general, the purpose of the Turtle Lake PTA (in common with those of the National PTA and the Minnesota PTA) is to:
- Promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
- Raise the standards of home life.
- Secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
- Bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
- Develop united efforts between educations and the general public to secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Why Become a Member?
Participation in PTA meetings, events, and activities is not dependent upon membership, so why become a member? Only members are able to vote on measures brought at each meeting. That includes electing board and leadership positions, voting on the budget, and approving special funding requests.
Additionally, membership fees are split between the Minnesota PTA and the National PTA. These fees go towards advocacy at the state and national levels on legislation regarding students and families. |
